Similar to the Big Bang, the Sakuris Pokémon Journeys blog was suddenly born. Here you will discover the behind the scenes of the creator of the Sakuris Pokémon Journeys blog and how it came about to what it is today.

Hi, I am Emily 'Sakuris' Hodgson, and your creator behind the Sakuris Pokémon Journey Blog. I am a university student studying Events management at Staffordshire University. The name Sakuris is based on links to my favourite flower (the cherry blossom) additionally being a colour or otherwise known as sakura pink, so I wanted to have a play on the words of sakura, hence Sakuris was made. I have started a blog on Pokémon to assist me with my Social Media and Content Planning module, where I aim to become an influencer of my passion for Pokémon. However, if I enjoy this I recon I will continue, who knows what the future holds.

My first interaction with the Pokémon franchise was the original anime released in 1999 (Pokémon: Indigo League), where I was introduced to my long time unrivalled favourite Pokémon 'Eevee'. Eevee is my favourite because I love foxes and they are based on foxes, plus they are pure adorableness. My first Pokémon game was Pokémon Pearl, where I battled through the Sinnoh region with my trusty Piplup. I was later introduced to the Trading Game Card (TCG), where I fell in love and now an avid Psychic/ Electric and Steel deck user.
On my journey of becoming an influencer, I have a friend to help me with fact checking and wordology regarding the Pokémon Trading Card Game as he is a wizard in knowledge of the Trading Card Game. So meet 'GandalfTheLanky'.

“Hey, I am Alex 'GandalfTheLanky' Townsend. I am a final year History student at Staffordshire University. I earnt the nickname Gandalf by being the tallest in my friendship group by a large margin for many, with the joke being made that I was Gandalf. I will be helping Sakuris as an advisor regarding the Trading Card Game and look forward to sharing my knowledge of the game and getting the chance to geek out with everyone.

I originally played Pokémon on my Nintendo DS, with Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team Blue, as well as some time playing the Pokémon Trading Card Game when I was younger. After leaving the franchise for nearly a decade, I was re-introduced into the Trading Card Game, in which I discovered my favourite Pokémon 'Alolan Marowak' and prefer using decks of my own design and curious creation to confuse and intrigue my opponent.”
So what is next for the blog, I intend to blog about each part of the Pokémon franchise, primarily focusing on the video games, the trading card game, the anime, and other merchandise. This will include: tutorials on how to play the games, tips to achieve victory, top 5 or 10 by both Sakuris and GandalfTheLanky, where you can purchase items, the history of the Pokémon franchise, and a dive into the gameplay of the world of Pokémon. I hope you will continue to join me in Sakuris’ Pokémon Journeys.
